Confetti System

When I discovered the ridiculously talented paper wizzes at the Confetti System I was wildly jealous of their clearly fabulous working lives spent playing with paper and mylar. It is with the greatest of lust that I ogle at their garlands, their paper pom garlands made for a Lanvin garden party, their hand-cut confetti & their incredibly sexy pinatas. When I saw the band Beach House at Angel Place earlier this year I instantly recognised the rotating pinatas glistening away behind the band as those of the Confetti System. I want to sprinkle a bit of Confetti System everywhere.

work-shopping europe

today im dreaming a little dream of my European wardrobe. It is mostly dreaming.....

01 maybe another little Repetto purchase?
02 my new little YSL indulgence
03 world's cutest child with the best hair & red/white stripes
04 hitting Liberty London.
06 scalloped bottom shorts from Topshop (in denial it is getting cold)
07 dyed agate slices that are now on a brass chain and look killer
09 navy & white checked shirt & Zara skirt with lots of necklaces
10 clock-blocking up a treat in these bangles from Forever 21
11 wouldn't mind bringing one of these Mulberry Alexa's home (dreaming).
12 first stop Zara for some knits and a warm bright coat.

Dream complete.

a little Lanvin

With an upcoming little jaunt to Europe only a week away I've been looking at things I could never afford but are only for European eyes and where else did I end up but the Lanvin eStore.
Not only did the unbelievably beautiful lofty billowy willowy silk frocks and the absolutely fiercely beautiful jewellery knock my socks off but the mannequins made me have a giggle and love the fact that one of France's oldest fashion houses doesn't take itself too seriously. I want one. And I'll have the peachy pink frilled neck lizard frock while I'm at it.

flowers & farrrrrrshion

Who ever knew 'fashion' had many letter R's in it? Well, it does. Imagine you are filthy rich globe trotter with a weekender in The Hamptons and summers spent yachting in St Tropez, now say it.... "FARRRRRRSHION".

But in all seriousness these little collages by Sarah Illenberger for Neon Magazine with photography by Sabrina Theissen are ridiculously beautiful and fill my penchant for flowers & farrrrrrrrrshion in 8 pages of wow.

scanned blooms mirrored

Inspired by my last post on the 'Bloom Day Scans' by Craig Cramer I had a play with mirroring the images and flipping to create a brilliant pattern. I can imagine these making the most incredible wallpaper.....

scanned blooms

I have marveled many a time at the beauty of flowers but never so much as when I saw these scanned blossoms called the 'Bloom Day Scans' by Craig Cramer over at his exceptionally lovely blog Ellis Hollow. There are even instructions for how to scan your own home-grown flowers over at The Bulb Project. I am absolutely mesmerised by the beauty of these, the boldness of the light, the potency of the contrast, the incredible detail. Wow. Here are just a few of my favourites.

Pinterest Interest

This is my Pinterest page. If you don't have a page get one! It is simply the greatest invention. On a daily basis it wows me and inevitably demands a succession of excitement quivers. I currently have 26 boards which are categorised by me in pathetically anal retentive way (Pinterest makes you do this, I'm certainly not a natural organiser). This blog will feature certain pins from my Pinterest page most likely from the boards 'The Studio', 'The Store' & 'The Flower Lab'. More on these later....

first cab off the ranks...

Today is my first post and I'm a little nervous. I have been stalking a ridiculously lengthy list of bookmarked blogs for far too long and I'm already a pinterest addict and since that I've neglected my Tumblr. I thought it would be a good idea to get a blogspot account and get seriously blogging. I'm not sure why or for who (call it a narcissistic daily-ish rant), but I'm up for the challenge! I've also spent a hell of a few hours sifting through incredibly inspiring blogs of creative types who quite frankly make my heart race with the creative high that only a compulsive crafter, self-proclaimed egotistical aesthete knows. It's the feeling when you see something that you know resonates with your own aesthetic, that blows your mind and makes you rush for a pair of scissors and a glue gun. Pinterest has been a wonderful way to share inspiring things with myself (so I can catalogue my whiled hours in front of the computer) and my (currently) 55 followers. I have connected with people on the other side of the world over a cracker of a pin. Chloe Douglas of http://plentyofcolour.com/ - I'm talking about you. It's pretty damn brilliant me thinks. I've also come across so many ridiculously amazing people (some rather lately) who have made me realise I'm not the only one living my dreams vicariously through the creative online cosmos. Mind you, most of those people are actually already doing something! For me, it is still just disjointed musings...... And so I begin this little venture.....
